After the shock of hearing about the longer distances, I have been encourged by my progress over the last 3 weeks. This past Saturday, at the local health club, I completed an 800m swim (24 min), 35K stationary bike ride (60 min) and a 5K treadmill run (33 min). I am feeling more confident about the Dallas event! Bio
Although I have never experienced renal failure I have had the fortunate opportunity to work in the dialysis industry for close to 30 years. On a personal basis, interacting with dialysis patients over the years has afforded me the chance to better appreciate my health and that of my family. As proud parents of seven healthy children my wife and I can only imagine what families go through that have kids with chronic illnesses. On a professional basis, being part of a growing dialysis industry has given me the financial security to better support my expanding family. Today, I am President of Fresenius Medical Care Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of the world\'s largest provider of dialysis products and services. I believe that being part of TEAMIRELAND will be an excellent venue by which Fresenius and I can express our sinceree gratitude to the thousands of renal patients that utilize our products and/or that are trea ted in our clinics. As they say- its "pay-back time"! In addition, having completed four half-marathons in the last two years (after not being overly active during most of my adult life) has given me the confidence to compete in a mini-triathlon. I would consider it an honour to be part of such a worthy cause!

Three Weeks to Go!
Busy Three Weeks
In the last three weeks, my wife and I have run a half-marathon (our fifth in the last 2 years) and had two more grandchildren (our fifth and sixth). I am looking forward to start the triathlon training while I await the delivery of two more grandchildren (some time in early 2008). We are truly blessed!
