Well the sprint triathlon in Midland that I did yesterday went pretty well! I got 2nd in my age group and 5th overall. It was a very tight race for the overall places from 2nd to 5th, only 15 seconds separated these places. My time was 1:00:52. The guy that won my age group time was 1:00:37 and he got 2nd overall so see there wasn’t much separating us. I hate getting beat by so little but it just makes me want to work harder so thats not a bad thing. Overall it went really well and it was a lot of fun. My dad did really well to getting 3rd in his age group and 10th overall, and my brother-in-law completed his first sprint triathlon and did very well. He got 2nd in his age group and 22nd overall which is really good for his first one. We all had a great time and are ready for this next weekend for another sprint here in Amarillo in August 9!! It is going to be a lot of fun i can’t wait!!!

Looking forward to the weekend!
Well I just got done with my training run and I am going to go swim here alittle later. I felt really good running today it was awesome. This weekend I am going to go do a sprint in Midland Texas. It is a 500 yd pool swim, 13.4 mile bike, and a 5k run. I’ve never done this one so I am really excited about it and it looks like its going to be a really nice and fun race! Hopefully I will have good results and have a great time. My dad and brother-in-law are also doing it, so its going to be a lot of fun, I can’t wait!
Another great weekend!
The MS150 went really well this weekend and it was a lot of fun with the family and all the people and everything. Even know its not really a race its a “Tour” the people at the front still see who can get there first. The first day was 100 miles and the last 25 miles are some pretty good hills. I came in first with a time of 3:39:17. And today was 50 miles of HUGE HILLS over and over and it took me 2:16:36. I also came in first today as well!! It was a lot of fun and my brother-in-law did it for his first time and did really well also. It was a really fun weekend all the way around.
MS 150!
Well tomorrow at 7:00 am we will take off and head to Canadian, TX which is 100 miles from Amarillo!! On Sunday we will ride from Canadian to Higgins, OK which is 50 miles of HILLS!! It is going to be a blast, and best of all it is for a great cause!! Last year was my first year to do the MS 150 and it was a really fun event and I can’t wait for tomorrow it is going to be a great ride!! Hopefully I get there in just a little over 4 hours. Last year my time was 4:36:00 and I wasn’t in near the shape I am now so I am looking forward to what I can do, and hopefully the wind will be at our backs. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I’ll get back to tell everyone how the ride went beginning of next week. Take care!!
1st overall!!
I won the sprint triathlon today at the Amarillo Town Club. It is my first win overall and I am pretty excited about it!!! It was a lot of fun today and there was a great turn out so I was really happy about that. It’s crazy to see how much this sport is growing its a really neat thing to watch it grow even just since I started a little over a year ago. My dad did awesome to! He won his age group and got 3rd overall! and also my brother-in-law comleted his first triathlon too and he said that he really enjoyed I hope that he sticks with it! But today went really well and I had a really good time so now I am just going to rest the rest of the day. Next weekend I will be doing the MS150 which is a 150 mile bike ride in 2 days next Saturday and Sunday so I will be getting rested up for that. Talk to everybody soon, take care.
Sprint triathlon
This weekend I will be doing a sprint triathlon here in Amarillo that is set up by a local gym here called the Amarillo Town Club! It is going to be a lot of fun and I am really excited about it. It’s going to be a lot of fun to do “a lot” shorter one and really really enjoy not that I didn’t enjoy the half Ironman because I LOVED IT!!! But it will just be nice to not have to do quite as much and my dad is going to be doing it so it will be good to get to do it with him! He will do great this weekend his training and everything has been going really well and he’s right on my heels which is awesome!! Also my brother-in-law is going to do the mini sprint that they are having and and it will be his first triathlon ever and I hope that he really enjoys it because I think he could be really great at triathlons, he has a lot of courage and strength in whatever he sets his mind to. Hope everyone is doing great and having a great week I will be back in touch soon, take care!! “ONE GOAL, ONE VISION!”
well…
I ran on the 4th of July and I had a great time and raised quite a bit of money for the foundation but i didn’t quite get to my goal. I was very close though and I had a lot of fun which is all that matters!! I ran a 5:03, barely missed my goal but oh well I was just wanting to see what I could run anyways. The best part of the day was raising money for the foundation and meeting and talking to all the people at the run and the 4th of July paraded they had. But I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and I will get back with you guys soon, take care!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK! ONE GOAL, ONE VISION!!
4th of July
On Friday I am going to a run just outside of Amarillo in the little town of Panhandle Texas. This week I have been allowing my body to recover and have been lifting some weights and things to just get recovered as quickly as possible. I decided to run in this on Friday to just have some fun and I have challenged myself to something. There is a 5k and a 1 mile race and I decide to sign up for the mile race. I usually would do the 5k but I have set my self a fun little goal and I need to let myself recover good so I am going to do the 1 mile race. But back when I was a freshman in high school and I was running long distance I set my PR in the mile and it was a 5:19. I know I am in much better shape than I have ever been in and I love setting goals for myself and sometimes there alittle to high but its ok because that always leaves room for improvement!! On Friday morning I want to run under a 5 minute mile. It will only be 5 days after my half but I think I can still do it, we’ll see I guess!! It will just be fun to see what I can run a mile in now!!! After Friday morning I don’t know what i’ll be doing for the long weekend for the holiday but I know one thing I won’t be losing my focus for the things I have planned to do next. I am so FOCUSED and excited for what is to come. I will always be working HARD and staying focused and training like I should!! TAKE CARE EVERYONE, TTYS!!
FINISHER!!!
Well I did it today. I compeleted my first ever Half Ironman and it was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE!! It started out early and my swim went really well and then I got onto my bike and about 20 miles into the bike it began to rain which my the road very very slick. With about 8 miles to go on the bike I went down pretty hard rounding a corner and got some pretty good road rash but it didnt slow me down too much i lost about 5minutes probably but I got through it. The run was pretty tough and the hills were brutal but it was cool and sprinkling so that made it alittle better not being so hot!! I endend up finishing in 4 hours and 56 minutes and I wanted to break 5 hours so im pleased with my results. I got 10th in my age group and I think 86th overall out of like 1400!! I am very happy about how today went and it was such an experience!!! IT WAS A VERY TOUGH COURSE, YET SO AMAZING AND ADVENTOROUS!! I have a run im doing Friday July 4th and then a sprint tri on July 19th here in Amarillo so i’ll be resting up and getting all healed up for those!! Take care everyone, talk to you guys soon!!
Getting close!!!
Only 5 more days until BSLT. Last week was alittle rough I had to go to a sports medicine doctor because my hip has been bothering me and he said that I had ITB syndrome and that I need to take it easy till the half on June 29th so i have been trying my best and it has got much better and I am feeling much better now and I think that I will be good and rested and very strong come Sunday morning! My adrenaline already gets going when i begin to think about the race, I CAN’T WAIT ITS GOING TO BE SUCH AN EXPERIENCE!!!
